Week 4 Game Note 3: Blooms Advance to 6th in The League

  • October 8: Domestic Violence Awareness Luncheon – Team players and franchise executives along with Orlando residents and guest speakers are welcomed to a lunch event in order to raise awareness for the growing issue of domestic violence. As this issue is prevalent in the Orlando community, the team and franchise would like to use this opportunity to build relationships with the local residents of the city that they represent.
  • October 8: The Most Colorful Parade – Presented by the Orlando City Soccer Club, Come Out With Pride is an event supporting the LGBTQ+ community. The parade will recognize individuals who have devoted numerous amounts of time and energy to supporting the community, particularly following the shooting that occurred in June 2016.
  • October 22: All Pro Dad – While participating in football-themed activities, fathers can spend the morning creating memories with their kids at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando. Join NFL Hall of Famer Jack Youngblood who will be present to lead activities and tickets are only $25 per family.

Game Recaps (Orlando Blooms vs. Memphis Monsters, W, 180.98 – 154.46)

Moving up to a two-game winning streak, the Blooms came out on top over Memphis, advancing to the sixth seed overall in the league. Recording the second-highest score this week, Orlando overcame the projected weekly score and came out with 180.98 points over the Monsters who earned 154.46 points. Orlando’s defense tallied the 10th-highest score of eight points for defensive lines this week with one sack, one interception, 20 points allowed and two fumbles. On offense, (QB) Blake Bortles was good for 207 passing yards, 36 rushing yards, two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown making him the 10th-highest scoring QB this week with 31.88 points. Will Fuller (WR) came out as the third-highest scorer of any wide receiver this week with a total of 33.80 points made up of 81 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Matchup Preview

  • Both Harrisonburg and Orlando have 2-2 records coming off a two-game winning streak
  • The Blooms are projected to start the week off strong then taper off while the Valley Bees will continuously improve
  • Orlando will play Quarterback Dak Prescott who is stepping in for Blake Bortles this week
  • The Bloom’s offensive line has more players with higher total points so far this season but Harrisonburg’s defensive line is ranked 13th compared to Orlando’s 20th
  • Harrisonburg has averaged 148.03 points per game, the most in the league

Orlando Blooms Season Notes

  • Total 538.72 points, 2-2 and sixth overall in the league
  • No injuries have been reported thus far for the Blooms
  • The Blooms have beaten their weekly score projection in every matchup so far this season
  • Kicker Graham Gano has been stellar for the Blooms, making 9 of 10 field goal attempts, including one from the 54-yard line against Memphis last week.
  • The city of Orlando is preparing for potential damage from Hurricane Matthew, expecting to make landfall on Friday, October 7.
