Orlando Blooms vs. Austin Armadillos
Sept. 15-18, 2016
Game Recap:
The Orlando Blooms dropped to 0-2 on the season this week after losing a tough game to the Austin Armadillos. The Blooms did have some standout performances though despite the loss. Quarterback Blake Bortles completed 31 passes for 369 yards, along with a pair of touchdowns and interceptions. Running backs Theo Riddick and Ezekiel Elliot paced the running game, combining for 120 yards. Running back Carlos Hyde added 34 rushing yards with 18 receiving yards on 3 catches.
The receiving core played well, but couldn’t match up against Austin. Receivers Donte Moncrief, Will Fuller and Jacob Tamme combined for 188 yards. Kicker Graham Gano had himself a day, nailing 4 out of 5 field goal tries. A nice bounce-back game for the kicker who has been struggling as of late.
In all, the Blooms had a decent day, but will need to do more as the season goes on if they want to remain relevant in the playoff picture.
