Game Recap:

The Sacramento Sasquatches fell to 1-1 overall after this past weeks disappointing loss to the Oklahoma City Orioles 134.78 – 122.68. With a tight score going into Monday’s game, an injury to quarterback Jay Cutler, allowed to Orioles to keep their lead. Cutler left the game towards the end of the third quarter with an apparent injury to his thumb, which will keep him out, “for an extended period of time” Kelvin Benjamin and Delanie Walker were among some of the positive performances from this week, scoring 30.80 and 20.30 respectively. Both men doubles their opponents in points scored.

Matchup Preview:

-This week, the Sasquatches gear up to take on the Richmond Renegades, who are also 1-1 so far this season.

-Ryan Tannehill will be starting as quarterback this week for the Sasquatches due to the injury Cutler received last game.

-If these two teams had faced off last week, the Sasquatches would have outscored the Renegades 122.68- 116.20.

-The Renegades will be starting the same team in week 3 that they did in week 2 but are projected to score 19 points less.

-Andrew Luck (Q/R/W/T) and Nick Novak (K) are the only Renegades players to have higher projected scores than their Sasquatch counterparts.

Sacramento Sasquatches’ Season Notes:

-Jay Cutler’s status will be followed and a timeline will be established once the full report on his injury is confirmed.

-Le’Veon Bell will serve his third and final game on suspension this upcoming week, after missing a drug test back in July.

-Local News: The crime rate in Sacramento remains an issue after a homicide on the 4000 block of 44th street occurred last Saturday evening, September 17th, following an armed robbery from September 7th, that was thought to be a hate crime against Asian Americans.
