Las Vegas Luck Attend Children’s Hospital on Halloween

Nov 08, 2015 – On Friday, October 31st, the Las Vegas Luck are teaming up with the Children’s Hospital of Nevada (CHNV) for their first annual “CHNV Halloween Night”. There, they will celebrate Halloween with children who aren’t fortunate to do it the normal way.

The Luck will send 20 players to the children’s hospital to spend time with the kids, including star players Adrian Peterson, Phillips Rivers, LeSean Mccoy, and more. The event will take place from 5 PM to 8:30 PM, and the players will come in different Halloween costumes in an effort to connect with the kids.

The kids will walk around the hospital, going to different rooms to simulate a “trick-or-treat” environment, with a different Luck player waiting behind every door, ready to give candy to the awaiting child.

“I just love doing things like this.” said Adrian Peterson, the team’s leading rusher. “We don’t just participate in these events to bolster our image, we legitimately care about these kids and the community as a whole. We make their days and they make ours.”

The Luck used the charity event as a much needed break from football, as they take on their rivals, the Los Angeles Legends, the following Sunday November 1. For that game, the Luck decided to choose 15 random children to walk out with the team on the field for the game, as long as their condition permits them from leaving the hospital for the day.

The Luck ended up losing the game to their Legends 174-137, but they are still in the heat of the playoff race. While they will try forget about the loss and prepare to take on the Harrisonburg Valley Bees next week, the game was an experience that these 15 kids will never forget, win or lose.

“These kids haven’t been lucky enough to lead a normal childhood,” said second-string quarterback Ryan Tannehill. “They have as much a right to walk onto that field as anyone. I hope it’s an experience they’ll never forget.”

The Las Vegas Luck seek to do more things like this in the future, and after the success of this day, we will certainly hold a Halloween day next October. To read more about the first Halloween Day and to see Video footage, visit our website at www.lasvegasluck.nfl.com.
