Attendance Soared as the Memphis Blues Edged Past the Harrisonburg Valley Bees

MEMPHIS, Tenn – On October 12, 2015, the Memphis Blues squeezed by the Harrisonburg Valley Bees at the Liberty Bowl Stadium with an all-time high attendance of 55,682 fans. The game came down to the wire with a desperation pass by Michael Vick to Antonio Brown in the final seconds with a packed stadiumVikings Titans Football still cheering away.

The increase in fan attendance on Monday was due to a promotional giveaway where the first 50,000 fans received a Marcus Mariota bobblehead. Bobbleheads went fast, and left around 5,000 fans emptyhanded. “For a young franchise like ourselves, it was great to see this many fans in our stadium ready to cheer on the Blues,” said General Manager Connor Archibald during the post-game press conference. This was the Memphis Blues’ first of many promotional giveaways with the next one happening during week nine against the Honolulu Hammerheads. “Our fans gave the Blues a late-game surge to push us into the end zone and give our team a much needed win after the past two losing weeks,” said Sports Information Director, Ryan Trexler.

The Memphis Blues next promotional giveaway is on November 15, 2015 when the Honolulu Hammerheads come into town. This promotion will include Blue Hawaiian shirts that will be given to the first 10,000 fans in order for there to be no shortage in merchandise for week nine. The Memphis Blues are back to being above .500 with a win this past week, putting them in third place in the league. “As a new team in this very competitive league, we are excited for the future of this franchise and a chance to make our first playoff appearance. That will really get fans to show up in record-breaking numbers, even more than last game,” said Archibald.
