Flyers’ Hope of a Championship Ends

Fort Lauderdale, FL (December 9th, 2014)- The Fort Lauderdale Flyers fell to the East Coast Egrets over the weekend on a score of 96.38 to 184.04. This debilitating loss marks the end of the chances of the Flyers making the championship playoff bracket this year. The Flyers ended the regular season with  record of 7-7 which means the team finished right at the .500 mark.

“Although we did not win the game I felt as if our guys fought hard all game long and season long for that matter”, said head coach Ben Teachey. He continued to add, “We fell short of our end goal but nobody in this locker room should hang their head.”

The Egrets saw their star receiver, Julio Jones explode for a huge game on Monday night. Jones caught a touchdown and hauled in over 200 yards in receiving, which was a career high for Jones. In fact it was hard to find a player on the Egrets that did not have a good game as they themselves scored a season high 184 points. Rookie receiver, Odell Beckham Jr., who is known for his amazing one handed catch last week continued his hot streak for the Egrets as well. Beckham found the endzone and caught 8 passes.

Though the performance by the Flyers was underachieving, as they were unable to meet projected point totals, they still had a player excel. The team MVP, T.Y. Hilton continued his stellar play. Hilton caught two touchdown passes and amassed the 150 yard mark in a game for the third time this year. ” This year has been fun, I just wanted to show people that I can play at an elite level”, Hilton said after the game.

Though the championship possibilities are dashed, the Flyers now advance to the consolation playoff bracket. They will face the Los Angeles Rams in next weeks matchup. The team looks to show their heart and will continue to fight for the loyal Flyer Fans.
