Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (October 14, 2014)– The Fort Lauderdale Flyers dropped its third game of the season on Sunday against the Tallahassee Tigers 118-96. The Flyers fall to 3-3 on the season and suffer a loss in the offense with running-back Stevan Ridley tearing his ACL and MCL.
“We felt that we definitely could have won this week,” Flyers coach Ben Teachey said. “A few adjustments on offense and we could be sitting at four wins right now.”
Flyers starting quarterback Russell Wilson suffered his worst game of the season completing just 14 of his 28 passes and a late fourth quarter interception. T.Y. Hilton led the wide receivers with one touchdown and 223 yards. Mohammed Sanu posted another solid game with 120 yards and a touchdown. Receiver Brian Quick and running back Frank Gore fell short in points in the final game of the week on Monday against opponent Anquan Boldin. Boldin posted more points than both of them combined which resulted in the loss for the Flyers.
Running back Stevan Ridley suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee on Sunday. Ridley is done for the season with the injury, forcing the Flyers to make some changes to the offense. Cam Newton led all stats with 284 yards and two touchdowns. The Flyers hope to see more production from Alfred Morris and Vincent Jackson, who combined for only 11 points this week.
