SILVERBEACH, Mich. – After a previous victory in week 6, the Silverbeach Guardians suffered a landslide loss to the New Jersey Squirrels in their week 7 matchup, losing 149.64 to 45.52.

Unfortunately for the Guardians, the New Jersey Squirrels’ offense put up a dominant 134.63 points while the Guardians struggled to kickstart theirs, scoring 22.52 points collectively. Quarterback Andy Dalton threw for 93 yards and ran for 3; however, his two interceptions proved costly as he could only contribute 0.02 points. Dalton recently replaced quarterback Anthony Richardson, who suffered a solid blow to the midsection in week 4.

Runningbacks David Montgomery and Jaylen Warren led the team in points with 8.00 and 7.90 respectively. Montgomery rushed for 31 yards and had 3 receptions totaling 39 yards while Warren rushed for 44 yards with 2 receptions totaling 15 yards.

Furthermore, Guardians wide receiver, Brandon Ayiuk, suffered a devastating injury after partially tearing both his ACL and MCL in his right knee. Head coach Emmy Reagan stated that Ayiuk will miss the remainder of the season and will undergo surgery as soon as possible. The injured list has continued to plague the Guardians’ offense this season as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa still has yet to return to play after his concussion and wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. left this week’s game after playing just four snaps due to fluid in his lungs, which ultimately led to pneumonia. At this time, there is no clear timeline as to when he will return to practice or play.

The Guardians now sit at 3-4-0. They are set to face the Paradise Pink Panthers next week.
