HARRISONBURG, Va. – The formally undefeated Panama City Penguins received a beating from the Harrisonburg Hornets during the week 5 matchup. After a devastating week 4 performance by the Harrisonburg Hornets they prevailed this week, rising above the rookie Quarterback star, Jayden Daniels. The week 5 matchup ended in a 27.74 point win for the Harrisonburg Hornets versus the Panama City Penguins (123.46 vs. 95.72, W).
The odds were stacked against the Hornets as week 5 began with two players out of the game this week. Running back, Devin Singletary was an inactive player this week and Wide receiver Romeo Doubs is dealing with a personal injury.
Providing a show stopping performance for the Hornets, Wide receiver Drake London gained 33.40 points this game, the most points for a player on both teams. Coming in second with the most points for this game was Hornets other wide receiver, Garett Wilson with 29.10 points. The Hornets host two WR’s this week that have earned a spot in the top 10 for the league.
“Tonight was a big step forward for us,” said Harrisonburg Hornets head coach Roger Adams after their impressive win. “Drake London was phenomenal out there, showing exactly why he’s one of the best in this league. But it’s not just about one guy. This team battled hard, overcame some tough breaks, and found a way to dominate against a strong Penguins squad.
In Week 6, Harrisonburg Hornets will be welcomed by the Baltimore Blue Crabs (2-3, 459.50) for their first time this season. The Panama City Penguins will take on the Las Vegas Vipers (2-3, 604.92), who are averaging a strong 120.98 points per game.
