The Penguins Prevail Again in Week Four vs. New Jersey

PAMANA CITY, Fla. – The Panama City Penguins pulled off another substantial victory over the New Jersey Squirrels in their exciting week four matchup. Led by Quarterback Jayden Daniels the Penguins won by a score of 124.1 to 92.38.

The Penguins received a strong performance from superstar quarterback Jayden Daniels who threw for 233 yards and rushed for 47 on his way to scoring two touchdowns and a two-point conversion for 24.02 points. Adding to the total, star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown caught 7 passes for 45 yards, catching one in the end zone for a touchdown and throwing a touchdown during a designed play netting himself 20.78 points.

Panama City’s offense put together a complete game this weekend but was also met with New Jersey’s firepower, coming from the team’s running backs. The Squirrels running backs combined for 39.6 points on their own. Squirrel’s running back Jahmyr Gibbs scored two touchdowns and ran for 78 yards while running back Johnathan Taylor ran for 88 yards and one touchdown.

During the post-game press conference, Head Coach John Sanders was happy with the team’s performance overall.

“The team played well overall. We came prepared for what the Squirrels threw at us and were ready to compete. Our guys came out and did what they needed to do to win the game. As a group we’ve got some things to tighten up for next week and we’ll be back at practice tomorrow preparing for Harrisonburg.”

The win brings the Penguins’ record to 3-1.

Panama City will be on the road next week and will look to secure another victory against the Harrisonburg Hornets.
