Paradise, Florida – Despite the namesake, it was not all pretty in Paradise for the Pink Panthers in the second week of the season. Although the Pink Panthers got off to a hot start, they were not able to keep up with the Chattanooga Chimpanzees, who would end up winning 111.60 – 74.16.
After a strong week one performance, Pink Panthers QB Josh Allen had a frustrating game to say the least, only able to put up 9.76 points to CJ Stroud of the Chimpanzees’ 14.30. Coupled with only three players earning double digit points, the Pink Panthers simply were not as competitive as fans would have wanted them to be at this point in the season. RB Tony Pollard led the way with a score of 15.20, followed by WR Chris Olave with 12.80 and FLEX Brian Thomas Jr. with 11.40. Outside of those three, however, it does not get any better. The Pink Panthers got downright putrid performances from some of their stars, including TE Travis Kelce (1.60) and WR Tank Dell (2.30), which rendered Paradise dead in the water against a standout performance from Chimpanzee WR Marvin Harrison Jr., who had 29.00 points on the day. Although Paradise got a combined 16.00 points from K Blake Grupe and DEF 49ers, it was not enough to pull off the win.
The Paradise Pink Panthers move to 1-1 following the hefty loss, and will look to bounce back next week against a Cleveland Chubb Club (0-2) team which has yet to record a win this season thus far. The Chimpanzees pick up their first win of the season and rise to 1-1, and will face the Brooklyn Colussus (1-1) looking to start a winning streak.
