Silverbeach, MI – The Silverbeach Guardians started the season with a big win 117.52-90.68 over the Harrisonburg Hornets.
The star wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, lead the Guardians with 26 points from his 130 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. His athletic performance seemed to be unharmed although Hill was detained by Miami Police outside Hard Rock Stadium, just hours short of kickoff.
In combination with Hill’s catches, the Guardian’s quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, played a pivotal role in the team’s success. With 338 passing yards and 1 touchdown, Tagovailoa finished the season opener with 18.62 points.
“I was just really excited to be out there again,” Tagovailoa said. “I don’t think anything else relates to the adrenaline rush that you get when you go out there.”
Their opponents, the Harrisonburg Hornets, earned the majority of their points from their QB, Matthew Stafford, who fell two points short of Tagovailia’s efforts. With a total of 14.68 points, he is still in deficit of the top four Gaurdian’s players – Hill, Tagovailoa, David Montomery (16.30) and Deebo Samuek Sr. (18.70).
With a 1-0 start to the season, the Guardians face the Las Vegas Vipers for week two.
