GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Dukes of James Madison can’t make it out of the swamp with a win, falling to the Florida Gators, 15-7 Saturday afternoon at Dizney Stadium.

The No. 9 Gators (13-2) were able to battle for three quarters before going on a 7-0 run in the final frame, shutting down James Madison (10-4) and their attempt at a comeback. This gave the Dukes their first American Athletic Conference loss, as they have now dropped to 3-1 in the division.

Through three-quarters of play, the attack unit was able to keep the game close. Senior Isabella Peterson continued her high-scoring season, with a four-goal effort as she is the No. 7 ranked player for goals-per-game. Senior Katelyn Morgan, Sophomore Maddie Epke, and freshman Emily Simkin were each able to add to the scoring sheet with goals.

The Gators were able to get past the sophomore goaltender Caitlin Boden 15 times, with Boden making 13 saves on 28 shots for the Dukes. Florida had nine different goalscorers, six of those with a multi-goal game.

James Madison (10-4, 3-1) will look to get back in the win column when they face American Athletic Conference foe, Vanderbilt University (8-6, 2-2) for the final home game of the season.
