Charleston, SC- QB Tua Tagovailoa was freshly picked up off waivers before the Week 8 matchup against the Austin Roadrunners and he did not disappoint. Tua did all he could scoring 52.18 of the team’s fantasy points in the 100.68 to 121.24 defeat. The Crabs are now 1-7 after another loss and the Roadrunners move up to 4-4.
The first overall pick during the draft was Crabs RB Jonathan Taylor whose production has been a fragment of what it was last season. During this week 8 matchup Taylor only scored 4.60 fantasy points proving to be a massive letdown so far after a historic season last year.
On the Roadrunners RB Derrick Henry showed out scoring 37.80 fantasy points, this was too much for the Crabs to handle as Tua scored more than half our team’s points in week 8. Players like Darnell Mooney (12 points) and Raheem Mostert (9 points) did not do enough to get the Crabs the W. TE Mark Andrews, one of our highest-scoring players got injured during the game and did not return only scoring 6.30 fantasy points. Crabs now have one more injury to deal with as WR Keenan Allen has barely played since getting injured in week 1 and RB JK Dobbins was just recently placed on IR.
This team may need to look for more help on the waiver wire because some of our players are too injured to play or massively underperforming. The Crabs looked for a spark when picking up WR Hunter Renfrow off the waiver wire and he only scored 1.60 points in this important week 8 matchup. This week RB Kenyan Drake who was sitting on the bench scored 16.70 points along with WR Garrett Wilson who also was on the bench scored 18.50 points. Unfortunately, when starting these players last week they couldn’t get over 10 points, but now when they aren’t starting they have solid performances.
Moving Foward
The Crabs are looking to get things back on track against the Oaklahoma City Oxen (0-8), who are the only team that sits below us in the rankings.
