MEXICO CITY – The Harrisonburg Valley Bees had the 9.1 point edge over the Mexico City Manatees in the nail-biting week seven match up, defeating them 154.22-145.12.
The Manatees had strong a performance by quarterback Patrick Mahomes who scored a total of 44.92 points. Mahomes set a new season high in completing 423 passing yards. While he was successful with three touchdowns, his lone mistake was an interception in the second quarter.
The Bees’ running back, Josh Jacobs, beat out the Manatees with a score 37.5 points from 143 yards and three touchdowns. The Manatees’ Rhamondre Stevenson only scored 23.8 points. Overall, he did relatively well but was no match for Jacobs.
In the post-game conference, Head Coach Nick Alouf spoke on the team’s loss.
“There was not much we could have done differently; it just came down to the nitty-gritty moments. Some adjustments will have to be made to ensure a win against Orlando next week. Hopefully we can come out on top next week.”
The loss brought the Manatees’ record to 4-3.
The Manatees will be at home next week and will look to face the Orlando Crocodiles at Estadio Azteca.
