OMAHA, Neb. – The Charleston Crabs faced off with the Omaha Cobs in Omaha, Neb., at the Corn Field in Week 7.  The Crabs continue their losing streak after falling to the Cobs with a final score of 100.16-87.44. The Crab’s season record now rests at 1-6.

Despite Crab’s star running backs Raheem Mostert and Jonathon Taylor dominating with 23.70 and 15.50 points, it was not enough to take the lead. RB Mostert is the second-leading scorer of the games after producing 109 yards plus a touchdown. The opposing quarterbacks were neck and neck this week; Cob’s Kyler Murray scored 27.16 points, and Crab’s Tua Tagovailoa scored 22.94 points. Cob’s QB Murray is the leading scorer in the Cobs-Crabs matchup.

Crab’s kicker Mason Crosby fails to meet his projected score for the fourth time this season with only 3.10 points kicking 11 recorded yards, which is just 22% of his projected score. Crab’s RB Kenyan Drake with a point projection of 4.64 fails to meet his projected score only gaining 0.50 points in Week 7.

In the post-game conference, Crab’s Head Coach Charles Johnson reflects on the loss.

“As the newest team to the league, we are learning and adjusting to better ourselves each week. We are thankful for our dedicated fanbase that inspires us to succeed each week. All of our players come to work each day with a great work ethic and a great attitude. We will be back at practice tomorrow to prepare for our home game against the Roadrunners.”

The Crabs will be back at Boeing Stadium in Week 8 to face off against the Austin Roadrunners.
