Toronto, Ont- The SnowTigers won a tight game in week 6 against the Boise Spuds (117-111) to remain undefeated (6-0) and first place in Divison 1.
The backfield in Toronto remains to dominate against defensive fronts. Austin Eckler (24.30 pts) continues to find the end zone scoring a touchdown on the ground this week and his fourth of the year. Saquon Barkley (18.50 pts) is showing flashes of his old self rushing for 83 yards and touchdown of his own.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts (20.90 pts) was 15-25 passing (60% QBR) with 155 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground Hurts ran for 27 yards and a fumble.
Michael Pittman (27.40 pts) was the star of the wide receiver core going for 134 yards on 13 receptions. It is clear to say he his hurts number one target as Isiah Mckenzie (5.50 pts) and Courtland Sutton (3.40 pts) struggle to get targeted as both finished week 6 with only a pair of receptions each.
The SnowTigers secondary on defensive struggled to guard the Porcupines wide reciver Brandon Aiyuk (28.30) allowing 83 receiving yards and two scores.
In the post game press conference quartback Jalen Hurts. Stated “Its a team effort the defense is doing their jobs, were moving the ball on the ground I need to work on getting the ball into my recivers hands more to give these guys in the backfield a break.”
The Toronto SnowTigers move into week 7 home game with momentum against the struggling Portland Porcupines (3-3).
