Harrisonburg Valley Bees Hands Toronto Mounties Their Second Loss of the Season

TORONTO – The Toronto Mounties fell short against the Harrisonburg Valley Bees, gaining their second loss of their season (118.50 to 107.40).

The Valley Bees had strong performances held by Running Back Nick Chubb, as he rushed 19 times for 118 yards and a touchdown while watching two of three targets for nine yard in Sunday’s game, racking up 21.70 points. The Mounties Running Back Aaron Jones also performed well, rushing 16 times for 110 on Sunday. Jones also caught three of four targets for five yards, and complied 15.50 points..

Despite the loss of the Mounties, Wide Receiver Cooper Kupp had an outstanding game as he  had a career-high 14 catches on MNF. Kupp set a new career high in catches with 14, and he’s racked up double-digit catches for over 100 yards in three of four games heading into Week 5.

In the post-game press conference, Head coach Drew Smith gave credit to their opponent, giving them the benefit of the doubt and touches on his input for the upcoming week.

“I think those guys have made steady improvements. I think coach (Nick) Quinn has done a really good job. They’re smart, they’re tough. I thought they played well this game. You know we started off our season strong with two straight wins and now we gained our second loss. I think my guys have a lot of work to do, but I have full trust in them that we will bounce back and be ready to compete next week”.

With the loss, The Mounties drop to a 2-2 record, while the Valley Bees improve theirs to a 3-1. The Mounties in Week 5 play the Omaha cobs and are projected to win 123.84 to 111.16. If the Mounties can’t bounce back from their last two games, then it may be time to start questioning their line up.
