Honolulu. – The Honolulu Hammerheads have finally broken their losing streak against the Mexico City Manatees, defeating them 112.70-108.96.
The Hammerheads were 0-3 after last week’s game against the Charleston Crabs at Aloha Stadium. However, the team kept their optimism and pulled out a win in this week’s game.
The Hammerheads Tight End Travis Kelce played a strong game, with nine receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown, bringing in 24.20 points. Running Back Miles Sanders also had a strong performance, rushing 27 times for 134 yards, getting two touchdowns, along with catching two of three targets for 22 yards, bringing in 30.60 points.
Although they lost, Mexico City Manatees put up a good fight, with Quarterback Patrick Mahomes completing 23 of 37 pass attempts for 249 yards and scoring three touchdowns.
In the post-game press conference, Head Coach Maui Heihei expressed his excitement over their big win.
“This was the moment we have all been working towards. We have experienced some tough losses this season, but the continuous practicing has paid off. Now, we’re hoping to keep the winning streak going and are going to practice hard for next week’s game”.
In next week’s game, the Honolulu Hammerheads will face the 2-1 Harrisonburg Valley Bees at Aloha Stadium. All eyes will be on Tight End Travis Kelce and Quarterback Carson Wentz to secure another win for the Hammerheads.
