SALT LAKE CITY – The Salt Lake City Seagulls had a great performance in their fourth game of the season, defeating the Oklahoma City Oxen with a score of 127.22 to 77.70
The Seagulls were led by Running back Rashaad Penny, rushing 151 yards and landing two touchdowns, with a score of 30.70 points. Following that, backup Quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 25 of 38 passes for 273 yards and acquired one touchdown, scoring a total of 24.92 points.
Penny has been struggling with getting playing time due to injuries and mental health issues. When asked about his performance today, he said “I feel like I wasn’t making myself happy. I feel like I was always trying to make everybody’s expectations. The last month or two months of last season, I was happy with myself, so I felt like that kind of played into how I played.”
However, the Seagull’s defense had another setback in week 4, only adding 1 sack.
The Oxen were led by their Quarterback, Justin Herbert, scoring an impressive 37.10 points for their team. However, the other Oxen team members did not pull their weight. The next top scorer was Wide Receiver Noah Brown, who scored only 9.10 points.
The Seagulls (2-2-0) will be on the road to Spud Stadium to face the Boise Spuds (2-2-0) in week 5.
