OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Oxen were defeated by the Salt Lake City Seagulls in Oklahoma City, with an overall score of 77.70 to 127.22. Despite this poor overall performance from the Oxen, Quarterback Justin Herbert had 37.10 fantasy points this week, with 340 passing yards and 2 touchdowns in a standout performance.
QB Justin Herbert regained his form this week after injuring his ribs 2 weeks prior, having a great individual performance for the Oxen. Herbert has been an incredible contributor to the Oxen despite the four-game losing streak to start the season and needs to continue his excellent performances if the Oxen hope to win some games this year. Herbert had an injury scare that could have ended his season two weeks ago, but when asked for comment Justin Herbert said, “I got banged up a couple weeks back with a couple hard sacks, but I am feeling great now thanks to my coaching staff and medical team that has eased me back into practice and gametime.”
The Oxen wide receivers however had a rough outing, with both Greg Dortch and Diontae Johnson totaling just 7 fantasy points collectively. This was a difficult week for both Dortch and Johnson as questionable quarterback play affected their fantasy numbers, plummeting the overall scoring potential for the Oxen in Week 4. Despite the bad performances from both the Oxen wide receivers, they hope to come back stronger with favorable matchups in Week 5.
The Dallas defense combined for 10 fantasy points while the Steelers defense put up an average 5-point performance this past week. Usually, a defense should not be relied upon to put up good numbers in the hopes of winning weekly in fantasy, but this was the only position the Oxen outscored the Seagulls in besides excellent play at Quarterback from Justin Herbert.
The Seagulls’ QB, Kirk Cousins, had a solid performance this week, throwing for 273 passing yards and one touchdown pass. This effort was fantastic as he completed 25 passes out of 38 attempts, producing a solid QBR for the game and producing 24.92 fantasy points. Justin Herbert completed 27 passes on 39 attempts, putting up a stellar QBR rating paired with 340 passing yards and 2 touchdowns with 20. Herbert boasted a fantasy stat line of 37.10 points, the highest of any individual player on either team this past week.
The Oklahoma City Oxen are set to play the undefeated Toronto Snow Tigers this upcoming week, a match-up that looks one-sided but could prove a pivotal changing point for the Oxen’s season. The Oklahoma City Oxen enter this game winless, producing a 0-4 record while the Toronto Snow Tigers are continuing to find success with an undefeated 4-0 record. This game could be a breaking point for the Oxen, and we hope to see better days out of this football team.
