AUSTIN, Texas – The Roadrunners continue their winning ways with their second consecutive victory 153.22 to 131.22 against the Boise Spuds in their third game of the season. The entire team made an impact led by running backs, Derrick Henry and Cordarelle Patterson.
It was a team effort to remember, all players put up at least 10.0 points in their matchup against the Spuds. The Roadrunners defense put up a league-high 18.0 points. All members of the squad managed to stay healthy throughout the game.
Head coach Kevin Jenkins said in a post-game interview, “We’re extremely happy that all of our best guys can be out there on the field doing their best work for this football team. Without them, it’s hard to maintain the chemistry needed to win games.”
The Boise Spuds had a couple of explosive performances from quarterback Lamar Jackson (47.42) and wide receiver Marquise Brown (29.00). The Spuds left marquee performers, running back Devin Singletary (24.10), and wide receiver Chris Olave (24.70), on the bench for this week 3 matchup.
The Roadrunners next game is against the Portland Porcupines, in which they are heavy underdogs. If their form at the running back position can piggyback off of last week, this matchup could be closer than experts think.
