Mounties Take Off in Week 2 at Boeing Arena

TORONTO – The Toronto Mounties faced off on the home turf of the Charleston Crabs at Boeing Arena in what stacked up to be the second biggest upset yet in the league. Leading by 70.38 points the Mounties obliterated their opponent leaving the final score at 173.76-103.38

Leading the team to victory this week, the star point leader was Mounties Wide Receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown racking up a clean 40.40 points for his team. Rolling his right ankle after the second quarter, St. Brown still managed to rack up the fourth most points out of any other wide receiver in the league. Running Back Aaron Jones earned the second most points for the Mounties rushing 36 yards for an overall 33.00 points for the team.

The Offense for the Crabs was not much of a rival for the Mounties Offensive Line however, Quarterback Matthew Stafford did put up a fight throwing 249 yards in favor of the Charleston Crabs and being the leading point scorer with a solid 36.98 points against Mounties QB Russell Wilson who only threw 180 yards with success on 20 out of 33 passes, giving him a total of 10.06 for his team.

Wilson had this to say in response at the post-game press conference for the Mounties stating “My team and my guys got me through today and we pulled out a great win against the Crabs. I’m determined to lead the team and get back out there and do what I do best.”

This week’s win brings the Mounties record to 2-0.

Next week the Toronto Mounties will return to OVO Stadium to compete against the Mexico City Manatees.
