PORTLAND, Ore. – The Porcupines opened the season away from home with a dominating victory at Oklahoma City Oxens resulting in the final score of 142.48 -113.96.
The Porcupines victory against the Oxens showed a 30% margin in score.
Coach Bill Branks was ecstatic to share in a post-game interview, “Us Porcupines have been working day in and day out in preparation for the upcoming season. Seeing our players and coaches hard work pay off with a first game victory only excites our team more for what is to come,” said Banks.
Young wide receivers A.J. Brown and Ja’marr Chase totaled for 56.4 points on the week with Antonio Gibson leading the Porcupine running back core with 20 points.
“It was a true team win”, Branks said. “We have a great group of guys and each one contributed in a major way to today’s win.”
The Porcupines take on the Boise Spuds in week two at home at Nike Stadium. The QB1 match-up between Tom Brady and Lamar Jackson will be one to watch following their excellent performances in week one. Spuds wide receiver, Justin Jefferson, runs in two receiving touchdowns during the opening week and advancing 184-receiving yards for one of the best week one performances in the league.
