OMAHA, Neb. – The Mexico City Manatees were victorious in a close win versus the Omaha Cobs in their week one matchup with a score of 106.90 to 99.22.

The week 1 matchup ended up being a nail-biter as the Manatees squeezed by and won by 7 points. A few players on the Manatees struggled during the game, but thanks to starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes’  55-point performance, the team was still able to secure the win. Mahomes had 360 pass yards along with 5 touchdowns.

The Cobs QB, Kyler Murray, scored a total of 29.62 points during the game. However, Dawson Knox, the Cobs TE, underperformed, scoring only 1.50 points. Many other players underperformed causing the entire team to earn 99.2 points, which led them to a loss.

The Manatees’ team captain shared some of his thoughts on the outcome of the game.

“The Cobs are a great team and really challenged us early in the season. We’re excited to show our division what we’ve got this season and hopefully challenge for a title,” said Mahomes.

The St. Louis Bison will be hosting the Mexico City Manatees at Busch Stadium next Sunday.
