HONOLULU, HAWAII- The Honolulu Chameleons (4-4) take another loss this week against the Honolulu Riptides (5-3) at the Aloha Stadium during week 8. The Chameleons were close to coming away with the win racking up 108.92 points by the end of the day on Sunday, however the Riptides came back to win it from their efforts on Monday night with a final score of 111.54 – 108.92. This was a devastating loss for the team as a whole but the team hopes to bounce back and regain their positive record.

The Chameleons Quarterback, Jalen Hurts, completed nine of his 14 passing attempts for 103 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and added seven carries for 71 yards. Hurts’ arm took a back seat this week. All of his passing numbers were season lows. However, his 71 rushing yards were a great asset for the team. He will look to do better next week.

Running back Darrell Henderson ran for 90 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries against Houston on Sunday, adding a three-yard touchdown reception on two targets. Henderson was a bright spot for the Chameleons this week although he was more inefficient than he has been in the past, so we should expect him to bounce back next week.

Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb caught six of eight targets for 112 yards in Sunday’s game. It was the 22-year-old’s third triple-digit receiving game this season after he recorded just two during his entire rookie campaign. The Oklahoma product continues to develop into a star player. He looks to continue his performance next week.

Tight End T.J. Hockenson caught 10 of 11 targets for 89 yards during Sunday’s 44-6 loss to the Eagles. Seeing more than double the number of targets as the next closest player on the team, Hockenson was the only avenue through which the Lions were able to find success. Through eight games, the tight end has now seen at least eight targets six times, which is a claim that only one other tight end in the NFL (Travis Kelce) can make. The Chameleons will miss him next week on his bye.

This loss brought the Chameleons’ record to 4-4 putting them in 7th place.

Honolulu will look to build on this week’s matchup, facing the Knoxville Knighthawks.
