San Diego, Cali- The Cadets suffered another painful loss against the San Diego Sea Lions in Week 8, falling by a score of 136.32-88.16.
The game began with Wide Receiver Robby Anderson getting injured on his only target for the day, a loss that remained painfully obvious for the rest of the game. With starting quarterback Lamar Jackson out for Week 8, backup Joe Burrow ended with 259 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and an interception. Running back Cordarrelle Patterson also had a stand out performance, earning 20.70 points for the Cadets with a touchdown as well as some fantastic receptions.
J.J. Watt and the Cadets defense struggled, only managing to get one sack all game and allowing several deep throws late into the game. This ties the previous worst performance from the defensive side, prompting Head Coach John Harbaugh to say “We’re going to reflect and build. We have the guys we want on the field, we just need to see that translate into results.”
When asked for his comments on the game, Joe Burrow said “We had a really good week at practice. We came out flat today. We had a lot of opportunities that we didn’t capitalize on. I wouldn’t say its a valuable loss, every loss sucks.”
The Sea Lions victory puts the Cadets at an overall 2-5 record, with two losses in the past two weeks.
Next week, the Charleston Cadets take on the Honolulu Riptides (4-3) at home.
