Alligators Suffer First Loss of the Season Falling to 6-1
ORLANDO, FLA.- The Orange Alligators suffered their first loss of the season in week 7 falling to the Harrisonburg Valley Bees with a score of 111.24-143.14.
Tua Tagovailoa’s strong performance led the Harrisonburg Valley Bees to victory with the quarterback totaling 50.54 points, outplaying Orlando’s quarterback Tom Brady who put up 28.44 points. Harrisonburg also saw strong contributions from running back Leonard Forunette who scored a touchdown and totaled 17.00 points. The Alligators saw a spirited performance from wide receiver AJ Brown who scored 28.30 points but were really hindered by poor performances from running back AJ Dillon and the Baltimore Raven defense combining to -3.20 points.
In the post game press conference, Orlando head coach Bruce Arians admired his teams strong effort but admitted a lack of execution led to the teams first loss.
“Missed assignments and a lack of execution on the defensive side of the ball really cost us out there today,” Arians said.
“Our focus is already to next week and we’re looking to have a sharp week of practice focusing on small details,” quarterback Tom Brady said. “This loss may benefit us down the road and will hopefully resharpen our focus for the second half of the season.
The loss brings the Orlando Orange Alligators to a record of 6-1, while the win brings the Harrisonburg Valley Bees to a record of 4-3.
The Orange Alligators match up with the 4-3 Harrisonburg Blue Streaks in week 8.
