HONOLULU– San Diego Sea Lions are met with a heart breaking loss against the Honolulu Chameleons due to outstanding performance by Honolulu Wide Receiver Marquise Brown. The Sea Lions are now (1-4) this season after being defeated 158.32 – 153.32.
San Diego Sea Lions Quarterback Justin Herbert had an outstanding performance again this week with 398 passing yards, 4 passing touch downs and one rushing touchdown. Herbert managed to gain the Sea Lions 56.82 points but it all came down to the wire when Honolulu Chameleon Wide Receiver Marquise Brown gained 125 receiving yards and a touch down in OT to win the game.
Head Coach Michael Damico expressed frustrations but was also pleased by the Sea Lions performance in a post game interview
“We knew coming in to week 5 that Brown would be used as a weapon against us, while I’m disappointed in the loss we played great and gained some offensive momentum back. I’m excited to work on defense this week at practice and bounce back next week for a win”
The San Diego Sea Lion’s and Honolulu Chameleon’s defense were evenly matched this week both scoring 7 points. The offensive game lead the Chameleon’s to a win with Wide Receivers CeeDee Lamb and Justin Jefferson combining for over 175 receiving yards and 42 points.
The San Diego Sealions are traveling once again to face off with the Long Beach Sharks in Florida next week on Thursday Oct.14 at 8:20 p.m.
