CHARELSTON, S.C. – The Sacramento Salamanders experienced an unfortunate loss Sunday, as they were defeated 93.00 – 139.88 by the Honolulu Chameleons in their own Heineken Stadium in Sacramento. The Salamanders started out with a strong foot, but were quickly overpowered by the Chameleons and were unable to pull themselves back up.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford continues to be a high scorer for the Salamanders, as he scored 30.30 points against the Arizona Cardinals Sunday. While he had some difficulty against the Cardinals, Stafford managed to throw for two touchdowns and completed 26 of 41 passes for 280 yards. Stafford was not the Salamander to bring in some points for the team, as running back James Robinson managed to score 20.60 points in his game against the Indianapolis Colts. Robinson carried 18 times for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

The Honolulu Chameleons were led by QB Jalen Hurts in week four, as he managed to rack up 44.18 points. Along with him, wide receivers Justin Jefferson and Marquise Brown combined for 40.50 points between the two of them. Week four was a great week for the Chameleons, bringing them to now have a 3-1 record and claiming second place in the SCOM fantasy division. The Salamanders fought hard until the end, but were unable to achieve the result they had hoped for.

After the game, Head Coach Robert McDaniel of the Salamanders made a statement regarding the team’s performance.

“While this week wasn’t our best performance, we still put up a good fight and never gave up. We prepared and practiced hard and put in our best efforts but unfortunately, we just couldn’t pull through in the end. We are prepared to get back on the field next week and up our performance in Harrisonburg”.

The Salamanders have a current record of 2-2 and are ranked fifth in the division and seventh overall. Next week, their week five matchup is the Harrisonburg Blue Streaks in Harrisonburg, Va. The Blue Streaks currently hold a 2-2 record and are ranked fourth in the division. There will be a great QB matchup between Stafford of the Salamanders and Kyle Murray of the Blue Streaks. Both QBs have been essential assets to their teams.
