SAN DIEGO, CA – After being on a two-game losing streak, the Knoxville Knighthawks defeated the San Diego Sealions 138.62 to 102.78 Week 4. The Knighthawks are now 2-2, ranked 3 in division 2, and the Sealions are 1-3, ranked 5.
The Knighthawks offense was dominated by Quarterback Josh Allen and Running Back Saquon Barkley. Allen had 248 passing yards, 41 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns which accumulated 30.02 points for Knoxville. Barkley has continued to step up his game in the past two weeks after coming off of an injury and had 52 rushing yards, 74 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns which totaled up to 31.60 points. In addition to Allen and Barkley, Running Back Kareem Hunt added 16.60 points for Knoxville.
San Diego eventually made the game a close one. Between their Kicker, Tyler Bass, making all 4 field goal attempts and all 4 extra points (16.00 points) and Quarterback Justin Herbert completing 25 out of 38 passes for 222 yards along with 3 touchdowns (33.28 points), this week 4 matchup ended up being a close one.
Knoxville coach, Micah Scott, was asked about his team in the post-game news conference.
When asked about his team’s Week 4 performance, Scott said, “I’m proud of my guys and just ready to bring this momentum and fire into next week’s game against the Long Beach Sharks”.
The Knighthawks go into week 5 being 2-2 and the Sharks 1-3. Knoxville will play at home at Neyland Stadium on Sunday night at 1:00 p.m.
