HARRISONBURG – It was an all around strong week for the San Diego Sea Lions as everyone played quite well, it was the strong performance from QB Justin Herbert that led them to victory though. Herbert threw for 4 touchdowns and 281 yards as the Sea Lions dominated the Harrisonburg Valley Bees by a final score of 170.64 – 99.74.

Elsewhere for the offense, D’Andre Swift continued to impress with another strong performance, Rushing for 47 yards and a touchdown, and completing 7 receptions for 60 yards. Swift said of his performance, “I feel strong right now and its showing in my play, we just need to keep up this same level of play in the coming weeks and I think we should be a team to fear.”

On the other side of the ball, the Bees failed to put together any type of resistance despite the fact that their defense had 3 interceptions and a defensive touchdown. QB Baker Mayfield had this to say of the team’s performance, “We just need to piece it back together and start performing. This is the second straight game in which we didn’t come through and if we want to stay competitive we need to stay strong and battle back. We can’t squander away the opportunities that the defense gave us like that.” Mayfield filled in well for the injured Tua Tagovailoa, however it was not enough to overcome the offensive performance put up by the Sea Lions. The Bees will try to rebound next week as they head out to Long Beach to play the Sharks.

The San Diego Sea Lions will look to build upon this win as they face the Knoxville Nighthawks for their second home game of the year. The Nighthawks are coming off their second loss of the season so they will look to bounce back as two of the top QBs so far this year in Justin Herbert and Josh Allen face off on CBS on Sunday at 1:00pm.
