AUSTIN, TX – The Austin Vipers won a close matchup in Week 5’s game against the Harrisonburg Valley Bees with the end being 141.88- 113.16 (W).
For the second week in a row, QB Justin Herbert and QB Carson Wentz were two of the leading scorers for the Week 5 matchup against the Valley Bees. QB Justin Herbert was 14 for 20 with 264 passing yards, 4 touchdowns, no interceptions and 1 fumble, adding 35.36 points on the board for the Viper. QB Carson Wentz went 15 for 20 with 258 passing yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions adding 22.42 points for Austin.
Week 5’s game was a QB battle with QB Tom Brady for the Valley Bees throwing 16 for 25 with 253 passing yards, one touchdown and no interceptions adding 22.12 points and making him the second leading scorer for the Bees this week.
It was a track meet between WR Stefon Diggs for the Vipers who caught 10 passes for 106 yards adding 21.60 points for the game and WR Calvin Ridley who caught 7 passes for 79 yards totaling 22.60 points for the Bees.
Coach Stephen was very pleased with the offensive outcome, while he says the defense held their own.
“Justin has had two outstanding back to back performances, while Carson came off the bench to contribute greatly to this week’s win. We’re looking forward to continuing our win streak and are ready to get back to work in preparation for our week 6 matchup against the Harrisonburg Bluestone Ballers.”
After this week’s victory, the Vipers have climbed to 3rd in the league.
Moving into Week 6, the Austin Vipers will face the Harrisonburg Bluestone Ballers at Bridgeforth Stadium.
