Week 5 brings a loss for the Mustangs

Louisville, KY- The Louisville Mustangs were defeated by the San Antonio Chaps in week five of the SCOM Fantasy League. The Chaps were able to pull away with the final score being 202.16-138.12.

The Mustangs were predicted to win this match by 12.13 points. Although this did not occur, quarterback for the Mustangs, Patrick Mahomes, had carried the team with the most points earned, 31.70. Mahomes had 340 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 21 rushing yards. Running back for the Mustangs, Chase Edmons, also had a decent week. Edmons rushed the ball 29 yards for a touchdown. Edmons had a total of 56 yards and caught five of the six throws targeted to him. Edmons gained 23.30 points for the Mustangs. 

Quarterback for the San Antonio Chaps, Deshaun Watson, earned a total of 41.86 points. Watson had a total of 359 passing yards, three pass touchdowns, and 25 rushing yards. Running back, Todd Gurley, had 121 rushing yards including one touchdown bringing a total of 26 points to the Chaps. 

When Patrick Mahomes was asked how he took the loss this week, he said, “It’s a learning lesson. As a team, we’re going to go out and practice hard this week and hopefully get another win next week.”

The Louisville Mustangs will be facing off against Honolulu Volcanoes, who hold a record of three wins and one loss. The game will be held at the Slugger Dome in Louisville.

The Louisville Mustangs became an official team to join the NFL in 2000. The team’s mascot is a mustang horse, since Louisville is famous for the Kentucky Derby. All home games are played at the Slugger Dome located in downtown Louisville.
