HARRISONBURG, VA – The Memphis Soul held their head high as they ended a two-game losing streak and left Harrisonburg, VA, with a 152.90 to 107.36 victory on the road against The Harrisonburg Valley Bees.
In the fourth week, The Soul was led yet again by Quarterback Kyler Murray with 39.12 points. Murray had an exceptional week with 133 passing yards and three touchdowns in the air along with 78 rushing yards but lost one fumble. Standing behind Murray with 27.20 points is teammate wide receiver, Adam Thielen. Thielen had eight catches for 114 yards and one touchdown.
The Bees quarterbacks held down the fort against the Soul with a combined 76.86 points in a strong offensive performance. Tom Brady led the team with 47.46 off 369 passing yards and five passing touchdowns with one interception. The Bees other Quarterback, Matt Ryan, had 29.40 points on behalf of 285 passing yards and ten rushing yards. However, Calvin Ridley, the third-ranked wide receiver in the league, produced no points for the Bees with zero catches on five attempts.
During the post-game press conference, Head Coach Phil Radcliffe was proud of his team’s connection in week four and looked to hold on to this feeling in the next coming weeks.
“We came out strong this week like we had something to prove. The Harrisonburg Valley Bees are a tough team to beat and we came together to help each other out and put points on the board. It’sIt’s always a good confidence boost when you get a win on the road and can bring it back to our city as we prepare for next week’s game.”
After the win, The Souls’ record moves to 2-2 on the season.
Memphis plays at home next week at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium against the Oklahoma City Buffalos (2-2).
