SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Bandits trailed behind the Louisville Mustangs from the start of the game. The Bandits were never able to take back the lead, resulting in a close score of 126.00 to 130.62 leaving the Bandits with a 3-1 record.
Although the Bandits lost, their leading players, running back Dalvin Cook and quarterback Russel Wilson, still had impressive games. Cook totalled 130 yards and 2 touchdowns for a total of 29.60 points. Wilson totalled 360 passing yards for a total of 35.90 points.
The Mustang’s wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr was their leading scorer with a total of 41.40 points. Playing alongside Beckham was quarterback Lamar Jackson who contributed a total of 193 passing yards and 1 touchdown for a total of 35.02 points.
In her post-game conference, Head Coach Cece Tyson commented on her team’s first loss.
“Although we lost, the score was close. Moving forward, I think all of the guys will view this as a learning experience for our next game. It is important to start and finish strong in every game you play.”
The loss brings the San Jose Bandits to a 3-1 record.
San Jose will be facing Albuquerque Fighting Turkeys next week.
