OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The San Antonio Chaps had three starters score over 20 points en route to their first win of the season, 130.60-90.54, over the Oklahoma City Dinos. The Dinos had one starter reach that mark — quarterback Jared Goff with 42.24 — but no other starter scored above 15 points.
Chaps FLEX/quarterback Deshaun Watson had a team-high 28.06 points, with running back Derrick Henry adding 28. Kicker Matt Prater knocked in four field goals resulting in 14 points.
Goff threw for 321 yards and two touchdowns, but the rest of the Dinos squad couldn’t match the offensive firepower. Dinos FLEX/running back Myles Sanders had 14.70 points, the second most on the team.
“I’m proud of how this team responded after two tough losses,” San Antonio Chaps Team Leader Christina Lorenc said. “Now we turn our attention to getting to .500. It’s important we celebrate this win, but move on. We want more.”
Oklahoma City will search for its first win next week as it plays the undefeated Honolulu Volcanoes.
The 1-2 San Antonio Chaps will visit arch-rival San Antonio Generals, who are also 1-2. The Generals earned a victory in Week 1, but have since dropped their previous two matchups. The Generals will hope to have wide receiver Davante Adams back from injury, but he’s currently listed as questionable.
