Louisville, KY – In week 3 of the SCOM Fantasy League, Bluestone Ballers ran victoriously in the hard-fought battle against Louisville Mustangs. The fight was strong but sadly The Bluestone Ballers defeated The Mustangs; 185.42-131.98.
The Mustangs had a plan which ultimately failed. The Mustangs went into the week looking strong with half their points coming from only Monday Nights Football garnering 76.18 points. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes very much carried The Mustang this week as well as allocating exactly 62 points by completing 31 of 42 passes for 385 yards and 4 touchdown completions. Some other notable mentions from this week’s match-up were from Wide Receiver Juju Smith-Schuster making contributive efforts on the offensive side of the ball. He caught 4 out of 5 targets for 43 yards and a touchdown during Sunday’s game for 16.30 points for the Mustangs.
Harrisonburg Bluestone Ballers still outperformed The Mustangs due to the highly skilled starters they had playing this week. Breaking personal records during this week’s match up Wide Receiver Keenan Allen received 30.20 points with his unpredictable route running causing defenders trouble. He caught 13 of his 19 targets for 136 yards and a touchdown. Additionally, due to injuries Running Back Alvin Kamara was placed in the slot receiver positions which meant he was taking on both primary responsibilities on top of being Running Back. This allowed for more playing time which Kamara rushed 6 times for 58 yards but also received 13 out of 14 receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns for a record 48.70 points
Although, Mustang passing game was phenomenal Bluestone Ballers Quarterback Drew Brees solidify the score completing 29 of 36 passes attempts for 288 yards and 3 touchdowns adding an additional 47.52.
In the post-game press conference, Quarterback Lamar Jackson mentioned what went wrong for this week’s game “the team started to crank up at the wrong time, we gotta come in and finish how we start. We always go opposite I guess against them for some reason. We just got to tighten up and play better that’s all”.
The Loss brought the Mustangs further down the ranking with a (0-3) streak.
In week 4, Louisville Mustangs go on the road to take on San Jose Bandits (3-0).
