LONG BEACH, Calif. – Quarterback Dak Prescott had another 30-plus point game this week during a 155.88 to 131.18 loss against the San Antonio Defenders in their week seven matchup. Prescott completed 21 of 27 attempts for 239 yards and one touchdown and 34.56 points. This was his third straight 30-plus point game, and his fifth of the season.
Trailing Prescott in points was wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who added 142 yards and 21.20 points for the Ligers. The Ligers’ also had a decent showing on the ground, as running back Aaron Jones had 50 yards rushing and 33 yards receiving for one touchdown and 18.30 points.
As for the Defenders, a strong offense allowed them to run away with the game – with three players scoring roughly 25 points or more. Quarterback Deshaun Watson added 28.52 points off of 308 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, the Defenders were led by running backs Austin Ekeler (27.50 points) and Saquon Barkley (17.00 points), who added 44.50 points collectively. In the air, wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders (11.00 points) and Allen Robinson (24.70) added 35.70 points for the Defenders – with five players accounting for over half of the team’s points.
The Ligers fell to 2-5 on the season, while the Defenders gained their second win in a row and now sit at 5-2. The Ligers will be back in action Week 8, facing off against the Las Vegas Jokers at Bellagio Stadium.
