SALT LAKE CITY — The Omaha Steaks hit the road this week and continued to struggle. The Steaks took on the Salt Lake City Serpents at the Amazon field, losing 163.42-95.98. This adds another loss to the Steaks’ losing streak.

DeAndre Hopkins and Tyreek Hill were the only players to step up to the challenge this week, and it still wasn’t enough. Hopkins finished with a 106 receiving yard and one touchdown. Hill had 74 receiving yards and one touchdown. The weakest spot for the Steaks was at defense. They managed to earn three sacks and one interception but could not keep the Serpents from scoring. The Serpents’ quarterback, Phillip Rivers, threw for 329 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. Ezekiel Elliott was unstoppable on the ground, running for 111 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown, and 36 receiving yards.

“This is starting to get embarrassing,” said Miles Sanders, “We all need to take a good hard look at ourselves right now and be accountable for our mistakes. That is the only way we can turn this season around.”

The Steaks are having a hard time getting their running backs to produce. Devin Singletary only gained 26 rushing yards after coming off a three-game absence with a hamstring injury. Miles Sanders is starting to get into a slump after a solid start to the season.

Head Coach Doug Pedersen said, “Every week is a new start for us, we try to go in with an open mind but it can be difficult when you look at our record. Every player will be involved in the film on Monday morning.”
