PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Purple Cobras extend their win streak to two as they took down the Austin City Limits this week by a score of 177.74 to 145.42 Sunday afternoon in Austin, Texas. Despite subpar numbers from WR Tyler Boyd and TE Greg Olsen, the rest of the team was sold.
Starting RB Todd Gurley was inactive this week due to injury, however, backup RB Kenyan Drake delivered a season-high 14.5 to help fill the void. The defense has been dominant since week 3, with this week putting up 21 points. Starting QB Matt Ryan had an outstanding game, with a season-high 54.94, and throwing for 356 yards with 4 touchdowns. Ryan is now the number one ranked QB in the league.
The Cobra’s defensive coordinator Mike Johnson said, “This was a great team performance, the whole team is finally finding their roles and playing up to their potential.”
The Portland Purple Cobras will be back in action Sunday at 1 p.m. as they take on the Orlando Orcas in Orlando, Florida.
