LONG BEACH, Calif. – Quarterback Dak Prescott could not get the job done for the Long Beach Ligers with 34.18 points. The Ligers are now 2-4 after losing to the Orlando Orcas 142.26-77.12. The Ligers struggled to put up points offensively and are now in eighth place.

Prescott completed 28 of 40 passes for 277 yards without a touchdown or an interception. He carried the ball three times for 11 yards and a TD in Sunday’s loss against the Orcas. Prescott was the only one who put up big numbers on the team. Running back Le’Veon Bell put up 12.30 points for the Ligers; however, that was the only other player above 10 points. The Orlando Orcas put up huge numbers offensively. They were lead by star quarterback Tom Brady who put up 41.96 points. He was the key factor in dominating the Ligers at the Den last Sunday.

Injuries crushed the Ligers lineup. Wide receiver Davante Adams for the Long Beach Ligers was out with a concussion and tight end Jordan Reed for the Ligers is still out with an injury. The receivers were non-existent in the loss against the Orcas. Wideout Will Fuller for the Ligers only put up 9.40 points which hurt the Ligers offensively.

It was the Orcas quarterback, Tom Brady, and running back, James Conner, who had breakout performances, scoring 41.96 points and 30.90 points at the running back position. Brady went 31-41 for 334 yards and no touchdowns but had 2 rushing touchdowns which helped lead the Orcas passed the Ligers. Conner had 41 yards on the ground and 78 yards receiving with a pair of touchdowns which was huge for the Orcas.

Ligers’ head coach, Brent Richman had a few words in the post-game press conference:

“Dak had a great game tonight but did not get any support from his wideouts and running back. We need to be better offensively so we can have a chance to win the game.”

The Ligers record is currently 2-4 after getting crushed by the Orlando Orcas. The Orcas now improve to 4-2 and are now in 4th place in the division.

The Ligers will travel to San Antonio to take on the Defenders who are a top team in the division with a 4-2 overall record.
