Aaron Jones leads Ligers to Victory

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Running back Aaron Jones lead the Long Beach Ligers with 50.20 points to break the teams three game losing streak against the Austin City Limits, 144.40-140.72 in the week five matchup.

Jones ran the ball 107 yards during 19 carries, caught seven of eight targets for 75 yards, and notched four touchdowns during his dominant performance. Nearly doubling his 26.00 point performance from week two, Jones scored the fourth-most points in the league this week. Any concerns about his shoulder injury that were thought to have affected his performance in week four have been shut down.

Following behind Jones in points, was quarterback Dak Prescott who put up 39.22 points. He threw a career high 463 yards and found the hands of his receivers in the end zone twice, but was intercepted three times.

It was the Limits’ quarterback, Russell Wilson who had a breakout performance, scoring 41.92 points. Wilson also had four touchdowns, passed for 268 yards, and ran for 32 but his efforts weren’t enough to beat Jones’ stats.

After the game, the NFL tweeted “It was the Aaron Jones show” with a photo attached of Jones biggest stats which Jones retweeted to his account.

Ligers’ head coach, Matt LaFleur praised Jones’ performance in the post game press conference

“Aaron tonight he definitely came up big. He broke a lot of tackles out there and he finished runs. We knew going into this game that we had to be physical.”

The Ligers advance to 2-3 on the season, while handing the Limits their second loss of the season, making their record 3-2.

The Ligers will be back at the Ligers’ Den to face the Orlando Orcas in week six.
