The Omaha Steaks Find Success for the First Time This Season
OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha Steaks had themselves a night and rallied back to get their first win of the season against the Long Beach Ligers, 126.10-107.42 in the week four matchup.
The Steaks were led by running back Nick Chubb who racked up a whopping 43.30 points, the third-most points in the league. He ran the ball in the end zone three times, while rushing for 165 yards and receiving for 18 yards.
Following behind Chubb in points, was quarterback Jacoby Brissett who accumulated 25.50 points. He threw the pigskin 265 yards, found the hands of his receivers in the end zone three times, rushed for 19 yards and had only one ball picked off.
It was the Ligers’ wide receiver, Davante Adams who had a breakout performance, scoring 29 points. He tallied 180 receiving yards on the night. Star quarterback, Daniel Jones, was just a few steps behind Adams in points with 27.30. He threw for 225 yards, completed a pass for a TD once, rushed for 33 yards but threw two interceptions.
After the game, Nick Chubb revealed his thinking going into the fourth week of play:
“I showed a little bit more determination. I wasn’t going to let anyone attack me,” Chubb said. “Honestly, I had nightmares last week. When I got hit on fourth-and-9 with a one-man tackle, that kind of drove me this week to not let anyone tackle me.”
The Steaks advance to 1-3 on the season, while handing the Ligers their third loss in a row, making their record 1-3.
The Steaks will be back at the Outback to face the Portland Purple Cobras in week five.
