AUSTIN, TEXAS— The Austin Atmosphere will be joining up with local nonprofit “I Live Here I Give Here” as well as the Austin Disaster Relief Network during halftime of the last home game, Dec. 10.
These organizations plan to show a video to all game attendees in hopes to raise awareness about the seriousness of flooding in the area, as well as how fans and ticket holders can join the team and help with volunteering, donations, and other relief efforts in the area directed towards the cause.
To get the campaign started, the Austin Atmosphere will be donating 25% of ticket sales to each the Austin Disaster Relief Network and the I Live Here I Give Here organization. Gift card raffles and T-shirt giveaways will be held during each quarter to honor those who decide to donate. Star players like Mike Evans and Jakeem Grant, who have both dealt with flooding in the past, will also be present at the event and plan to speak on behalf of those affected by flooding. “Unfortunately, we know what the locals of Austin are going through. Flooding can be tragic to some and we feel that it is important to support our community and help in any way possible,” stated Grant.
“One of our main goals is to further strengthen the relationship between our organization and the Austin community. This event is a perfect way to get involved, for both players, fans, and locals,” stated General Manager Riley Harvey. Most of the campaigns events related to Dec. 10 will be held during halftime. However, donation drop boxes, raffles, and volunteer tables will be available at all times during the game, at multiple locations around Lone Star Stadium.
