Tackle Poverty, Make a Difference

ST. LOUIS – On October 25, 2019 the Archers will launch their philanthropic campaign, Tackle Poverty, Make a Difference, for the St. Louis community. The Archers have created a campaign to lessen the poverty rates in St. Louis through a variety of tactics that include raising funds, partnering with local business owners, and reaching out to spokespeople like the St. Louis mayor and professional athletes on the Archers team.

“The Archers primary aim is to create a more positive and well-balanced environment to encourage healthy outlets for the St. Louis youth. Keeping students in school and off the streets is the first step to a better future.”, states, the Archers Director of Media Relations, Megan Shaw.

Currently, the poverty rate in St. Louis is 23.8% with a median household income of $40,346. In this campaign, the Archers will have a focal point, more specifically, on the students in the public-school system of St. Louis. St. Louis public schools, currently, have a cost-adjusted revenue per student that is 9% below Missouri’s average. To add onto this saddened fact, an astounding 68% of St. Louis students are eligible for free or reduced lunches – which is a common measurement of poverty.

As the Archers, currently, focus on sustaining mutually beneficial partnerships and free after-school care, we will release more information in the near future about more programs we plan to implement, as well. Consider donating to the cause through our website, thestlouisarchers.com, or volunteering at one of the free after-school programs. Help the Archers help St. Louis.
