OMAHA, NE – The Omaha Goldenrods are set to implement their first annual “Stay Golden” campaign, a movement with the goal of reducing violent crime and increasing public safety in and around Omaha, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
“This campaign is bigger than our organization. This is something that can improve our city and the moral of our people here in Omaha. This is an opportunity unlike any other and we can’t wait to get everything started,” Goldenrods General Manager Dom Palumbo said.
The campaign will encompass the entirety of the 2019 SCOM Fantasy Classic season, with the two centerpiece events being a police appreciation night at the Rods October, 13th home game against the Louisville Lions, along with a team roundtable discussion on Wednesday December, 3rd.
Police appreciation night will cover every facet of the Omaha Police Department. The Chief of Police will be the nights honorary captain. Free t-shirts will be handed out with the hashtag #OneOmaha on the front and the logos of the Goldenrods and the Omaha police.

The roundtable discussion will be a chance for players, Omaha city council members, the Omaha Chief of Police and members of Goldenrods management to sit down with fans to answer any questions regarding public safety, the team’s performance along with a host of other topics.
