Portland Predators was clutch with 60.92 points on Monday Night Football (42% of their total score) to seal the comeback against St. Louis Archers 143.64 to 107.68. The late heroics were impressive, since they were originally projected to have only 29.94 points on Monday night. Portland Predators was led by quarterback Drew Brees (363 Pas Yds, 3 TD). Brees passed for 363 yards and added 54.72 points to the final tally. The St. Louis Archers, quarterback Aaron Rodgers, passed for a season-high 442 yards, completing 32 passes on 52 attempts with three TDs (40.68 points). Both teams left points off the scoreboard as the Predators had one starter turn in zero points and St. Louis Archers had three. Portland Predators (4-1, 760.56 points) remain in fifth place, while St. Louis Archers (0-5, 504.38 points) stay stalled at the bottom of the rankings. Adrian Peterson deserved more touches for Portland Predators, as he put up a whopping 42 total yards on just six touches. In Week 6, Portland Predators face the Boulder Black Bears (1-4, 706.08).
Match-up Preview
- Next week, the Portland Predators, currently ranked No. 2 in the season, will play the Boulder Black Bears who are currently ranked No. 6 in the season. The Black Bears are projected to defeat the Predators 109.51 – 107.81.
- One of the Predator’s highest scoring players, quarterback Drew Brees, will have his first bye week of the season. Hopefully the Predator’s quarterback Sam Darnold can perform as well as Brees has been in the past few games of the season and make up for the missing player.
- The Portland Predators running back Ezekiel Elliott, who is ranked as the No. 6 running back in the league for the season, is projected to score 18.41 points for the team.
- Black Bears running back James Connor and the Predator’s running back Ezekiel Elliott have a one-point difference in points projected to be scored for this coming game (28.71 – 27.85). It will be interesting to see who performs the best in this position.
- The Black Bears defense have a bye for this coming game. Hopefully, the Predators defense will be able to perform well to score more points for the team.
Portland Predators Season Notes
- Predators are currently No. 2 in their division and No. 5 overall in both divisions.
- Brees’ performance saw him become the NFL’s career leader in passing yards. In spectacular fashion, Brees broke the record on a 62-yard touchdown to rookie Tre’Quan Smith, who would finish the night with two scores.
- Predator’s running back Adrian Peterson, was diagnosed Tuesday with a strained shoulder. The running back isn’t expected to miss game action due to the issue, but he’ll receive a second opinion on the injury.
- Running back Mike Davis, was added to the team last week.
- Kicker Dan Bailey, was dropped from the team last week as well.
- Tuesday, A 21-year-old man was identified as the victim killed in a Southeast Portland shooting late Sunday.
