Marcus Mariota remains day-to-day with an elbow injury for the Jack Rabbits, but Josh Allen stepped up beautifully at the QB spot with 33 points. Derek Carr, at the other QB spot, also had a nice day for San Diego with 29 points. WR Robert Woods was the shining star for the Black Bears with 35 points in this matchup, but it was simply not enough to make up from pedestrian performances from RB Kenyon Drake and WR Desean Jackson with three points apiece. WR Odell Beckham Jr was able to rack up 100yards and 21 points for San Diego to pad their total score, as the Jack Rabbits go to 2-1 on the season and rise to 7th place in the standings. Boulder is still looking for their first win of the season, as the Bears come out of this one at 0-3.
Match-up Preview
San Diego will look to take on the Honolulu Hammerheads in their next matchup; one that looks to be a tough task as Honolulu enters with a 3-0 record. The Hammerheads will look for big performances from RB Melvin Gordon and WR Adam Thielen. Tight End Travis Kelce and QB Jared Goff round out the star-studded Hammerhead lineup, while the Jackrabbits will need to decide between starting Mariota or Allen at their QB2 spot. Allen has looked good in replacement of Mariota, who continues to nurse an elbow injury. San Diego will also look for RB Dalvin Cook to return from injury in order to help the Jackrabbits rushing attack. The matchup between Odell and Thielen may prove to be the difference in this contest. Odell looks to score his first touchdown of the season in week 4.
