Game Recap
This week’s two highest-scoring teams met in an epic battle as Las Vegas Spades took down The Honolulu Honey Badgers 185 to 146. Although the Spades never trailed in this match up, it started out extremely close Sunday afternoon as Spade’s Todd Gurley and Honey Badger’s Alvin Kamara both got off to huge starts. The extremely strong overall performance by the Spades team led by Quarterbacks Dak Prescott and Drew Brees, who each scored over 34 points, turned out to be too much to handle for the Honey Badgers despite a spirited comeback Monday night. The Honolulu Honey Badgers fall to 3-6 but stay in seventh place. The Las Vegas Spades (8-1) are in first place and have a very comfortable three game cushion between them and the next best teams. The Spades also boast the highest points per game average at 160.
Matchup Preview
- The top ranked Spades are set to take on the second place Chattanooga Chickadees next week, and both teams are looking to keep their win streaks going at 4 and 3 respectively.
- The Spades boast the highest points per game average at 160 and the Chickadees have the next highest with an average of 145.
- Both teams have top-3 scoring Tight Ends but both are on a bye this week, so they will be looking for their backups, Kyle Rudolph (Spades) & Vernon Davis (Chickadees), to try and pick up the slack in their absence.
- The last matchup between these two teams resulted in a 167-116 blowout by Las Vegas.
- The Spades starters are looking healthy heading into this week’s game, the same cannot be said for The Chickadees as they have multiple players who were unable to practice this week.
- There are four new faces in the Spades starting lineup this week including Matt Ryan, Jerick McKinnon and free agents Kyle Rudolph & kicker Graham Gano,
- The Spades have the top two scoring wide receivers in the league in Antonio Brown and DeAndre Hopkins.
